Ouchie is the name of the game at my home. Our poor sweet Lydia has had the ouchie since Sunday. Severe abdominal pain and cramping. Thinking and hoping that she could go to the potty but cannot. Her colon is all stopped up, disgusting I know, but ever so true. We had been to the doctor three times in 12 days and now it was time to make our deput into Children's Hospital. Yes, the xray informed us of lots of poo in the colon. What to do? What to do? Enema is the solution! Twice as a matter of fact! An hour between each to let nature run its course. Whew! They even had to put a sign on the potty door that read "out of order" for our use only! They knew we would be making lots of poo breaks. Bless her bones! Bless her bones! Actually, bless our nostrils! Whew! Unfortunately, we were not able to get it all out-we have to work on it at home with laxatives. WHEW once again! Constipation is not fun.......

Long story... I will try to keep short. My oldest son Baylor has LOTS of issues with poop, from infancy (before solid food even). We struggled for years with it, battling it, "Miralax-ing" it (he was on a Miralax regemin for 6 months). It was draining, and messy!
ReplyDeleteFinally, my hubby was seeing a chiropractor and asked him if he saw children and told him about Baylor. The chiro asked to see him and examine him. We took him in and like you an x-ray showed not only his colon but his entire body cavity full of poop! Anyway, he started adjusting Baylor and I will honestly tell you that Bay went to the bathroom THE FIRST DAY he was adjusted. We think the Chiro was a God send and tell everyone with this issue his story. The chiro told us that the nerve that told Bay to release or poop was pinched and he was not feeling the urge. Not feeling the urge made his muscles in his bottom get used to holding a lot in and eventually changed the muscle to hold more than it needed to.
To add: It was not a "crack your back" chiropractor, but one that used a more holistic approach and a "clicker" to tap his spine. He also went for several months to get well. He as a rule is not a regular person to this day. He only goes every 2 or 3 days... but it sure beats the 7 to 10 before.
